School Lunches

 Menus

Our school lunches are cooked, delivered and served by St James Church School who provide high quality nutritious meals.

Orders for school meals can be made through Arbor.  If you need any help with ordering, please contact the school office on enquiries@bishopslydeard.bwmat.org.

Orders need to be made 8 days in advance of the meal you would like to order. However, you can order several weeks in advance to save you time.  We do advise that you look through the menu with your child and book the meals together.  This is not only so that you can get to know which meals your child likes to eat and make sure they are enjoying their lunch but also to help develop those all important speaking and listening skills.

Somerset Council Free School Meals Page

From 1 September 2026 there will be two categories of eligibility for free school meals:

Targeted eligibility: this covers children in households in receipt of Universal Credit with annual household earnings of £7,400 or less. These children will attract pupil premium.

Expanded eligibility: this covers children who are in households receiving Universal Credit with annual household earnings of more than £7,400. Children will be entitled to free school meals only.  This means they will not be eligible for pupil premium.

Anyone already awarded free school meals who is attending a Somerset school will automatically be rechecked to see if they still qualify. Anyone who no longer qualifies will stop receiving free school meals from September 2026.
