School Lunches

 Menus

Our school lunches are cooked, delivered and served by St James Church School who provide high quality nutritious meals.

Orders for school meals can be made through Arbor.  If you need any help with ordering, please contact the school office on enquiries@bishopslydeard.bwmat.org.

Orders need to be made 8 days in advance of the meal you would like to order. However, you can order several weeks in advance to save you time.  We do advise that you look through the menu with your child and book the meals together.  This is not only so that you can get to know which meals your child likes to eat and make sure they are enjoying their lunch but also to help develop those all important speaking and listening skills.

Holiday Free School Meal Vouchers

The government are ending holiday free school meal vouchers on 31st March 2026.
Parents who qualified for the vouchers received them during the February half term holiday as normal. These were the last vouchers to be sent and there will be no holiday free school vouchers issued after 31st March 2026.

Somerset Council has set up a new system and is working with Citizens Advice (CA) to deliver vouchers from selected supermarkets to eligible families.

The Easter Holiday Family Support service is available online now! Simply complete an application form and provide the relevant supporting evidence.

Full details can be found here: EHFS Form - Citizens Advice Somerset

If you are struggling to fill in the online form, give the CA a call on freephone 0808 278 7842. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm.

A high volume of calls are expected, so you may have to wait to be connected. Please be patient – advisors will get to you.
Other help is also available during the Easter break such as the Happy Healthy Holidays (HHH) programme. Families with children eligible for free school meals can register for access to holiday clubs and camps. This Easter package also includes meals.

The next HHH programme, organised through Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP), runs from 3 April - 19 April 2026.

In the meantime, if you are worried about your ability to manage the holiday period please note there is ongoing support available:
