Pupil Involvement
At Bishops Lydeard Church School, pupils are actively involved in collective worship through a variety of meaningful opportunities. Each week, pupils engage in in-class collective worship sessions where they explore and dig deeper into key themes, fostering reflection and understanding. Additionally, each class takes turns planning and leading whole-school collective worship, allowing pupils to develop leadership skills and share their insights with the wider school community. Regular child participation is encouraged in all collective worship sessions, ensuring that pupils contribute confidently and meaningfully. On Fridays, we celebrate a child-centred Gold Book Rewards collective worship, highlighting achievements and reinforcing our values of respect, endurance, and friendship in a joyful and inclusive setting.
Information about Church and Clergy Involvement
Reverend Martin Perry plays a vital role in leading Collective Worship at Bishops Lydeard Church School every Monday, providing pupils and staff with meaningful and spiritually enriching experiences that align with the school’s values and the liturgical calendar. He also generously opens the church to the school community for visits and key whole-school celebrations, including Harvest, Easter, Christmas, and Leavers events. These occasions offer pupils the opportunity to engage deeply with the traditions and rituals of the Church in a sacred space, enhancing their understanding and participation in collective worship beyond the classroom setting. This partnership supports the school’s commitment to fostering a rich and inclusive prayer life that is central to its ethos.
