As the Head of School for the last 2 years, and a deputy headteacher and teacher before that, I have worked passionately to see our vision of ‘Life in all its fullness,’ be a lived experience for our entire school community. I have loved seeing this grow and flourish for every child, staff member and wider community over the years. I believe in our ethos and culture, that everyone, no matter their background, beliefs and experiences, will be met with our values of respect, endurance and friendship.

We are in an exciting time for Bishops Lydeard Church School. We are growing rapidly and expanding towards a single form entry model, starting with Key Stage 2. We are seeing our children, teaching and support team grow, and working with the wider community are offering an increased package of development opportunities to our children. Children’s voice shows that they ‘love’ the learning that takes place and are active in every lesson. We are invested in a package of support that enables all children to feel loved, accepted and have their holistic needs met. Through this, we see the best progress and academic outcomes for our children.

As the new Executive Headteacher of Bishops Lydeard Church School to introduce myself and extend a warm welcome to the school community. It is with great pleasure that I take on the role of Executive Headteacher and I look forward to working alongside you, the staff, and most importantly, the pupils.

I am incredibly passionate about education and ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. With over 20 years of experience in the education, I am dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

As we embark on this journey together, I believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital for the success of our students. I encourage open communication and collaboration, and I am committed to working closely with you to support your child’s learning and development.

I will be working closely with Mr Dakin, so we can continue to build on the strong foundations that have already been established. Together, we have a vision for Bishops Lydeard Church School to be a place where every child feels valued, inspired, and challenged to achieve their very best.

As with Mr Beament, I will be leading two other schools, alongside Bishops Lydeard Church school and my time will be divided between them.

I am looking forward to meeting you all and the days I am at the school I will be welcoming pupils on the school gate.  I will also be available to chat with families – please do come and say hello!
