In Maths, we have explored measuring and comparing lengths, heights, and capacity. We have explored capacity using water and different sized containers. We measured items in non standard units and using cm rulers.
In History, we exploring the history of significant individuals who have affected history. We are learning about Florence Nightengale and Mary Seacole. Key Stage 1 had a visit from the Somerset Museum and they led us in several creative learning activities such as dressing up in historical clothing and looking at actual 200 year old artefacts!
In Science, we went outdoors and explored the topic of forces. We explored and identified forces as a push, a pull or a twist. Can you figure out which forces are being used in the pictures below?
In Maths, we have been exploring ways of making our number bonds to to ten and twenty.
In Hedgehog class, we have been sharing our favourite books and drawing pictures about some of our favourite stories and facts that we have learned from books.
In English, we have been learning to retell and act out the story of Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave.
In Maths, we have also been playing addition and subtraction board games.
In Maths, we have also been learning how to subtract by counting back on a number line.
In Maths, we have been challenging ourselves to see how far we can count and write numbers.
In our outdoor learning, we acted out the story we have been learning ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do!’
We enjoyed adding numbers within 20 using ‘giant’ numicon outside.
